Requirements

  • Sound knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Drive Works
  • High level of proficiency with computers, the internet, and other standard engineering and design technology applications and tools
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP
  • Working knowledge of ISO, ANSI, and UL
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are required to resolve complex processes and systems issues
  • High level of professional communication (written and verbal) skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Engineering schedule, including birthing new projects, maintaining existing products with new or improved innovations
  • Oversee key projects, processes, and performance report data and analysis
  • Conduct research and testing with internal and external resources to support existing products as well as new concepts and product launches
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Operations, and Quality Managers
  • Direct the review of production costs and product quality
  • Negotiate contracts with consulting firms to perform research, testing or other applicable studies, support, or certifications as needed
  • Oversee the quality of work for both Applications and R&D Engineering

Other

  • Manage, mentor, and direct both Applications Engineers and R&D Engineers, and Technical Publications staff
  • Provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of staff
  • Manage team in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, to include safety
  • Interviewing, hiring, training, rewarding, and disciplining employees
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or other related engineering required, Master's degree or equivalent preferred
