Lockheed Martin is seeking a Manager to lead one of their Agile Product teams for the Next Generation Geo (NGG) ground segment program, which requires providing a next-generation ground system with an open architecture/open framework to offer flexibility in a rapidly changing environment.
Requirements
- Proven track record of successfully leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects on time and on budget
- Strong technical skills, with the ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with agile development methodologies
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices, with the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure that engineering and cybersecurity activities are designed, developed, and implemented in a secure and reliable manner
- 5+ years of experience in engineering management or a related field
- Experienced in using Jira to manage agile projects, with skills in creating and tracking user stories, epics, and features, as well as planning and executing increments, and using Jira's reporting and analytics capabilities to inform project decisions and optimize workflows.
Responsibilities
- Lead a SAFE Agile Product team of individual contributors in support of product team follow through whose primary focus is on the design, development, and testing of a software solution for operational delivery.
- Assist the existing leadership team with vetting, hiring, staffing and shaping excellent teams.
- Embrace modern development practices and insist that others do as well.
- Introduce automation when necessary.
- Understand and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Apply engineering principles and practices to ensure that engineering and cybersecurity activities are designed, developed, and implemented in a secure and reliable manner.
- Use Jira to manage agile projects, with skills in creating and tracking user stories, epics, and features, as well as planning and executing increments, and using Jira's reporting and analytics capabilities to inform project decisions and optimize workflows.

- The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
- The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115.
