Marmon-Herrington Company is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to oversee the end-to-end engineering lifecycle of drivetrain components, ensuring robust, high-performance, and cost-effective solutions for off-highway and heavy-duty vehicle applications. The ideal candidate will drive innovation, lead cross-functional teams, and align product development with strategic business objectives.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in the design, development, and validation of axles, transfer cases, and hydrostatic transmissions preferred.
- Proficient with J1939 truck architecture
- Deep knowledge of mechanical drivetrain systems, fluid power systems, and gear train design.
- Proficiency with CAD tools and FEA analysis software.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, and materials.
- Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., SAE, ISO) and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and engineering change processes.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance on system architecture, design standards, and validation processes for drivetrain components.
- Oversee multiple concurrent development projects, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and performance targets.
- Develop and implement engineering best practices, design standards, Service and maintenance instructions, and tools to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability.
- Collaborate with team members to support service and warranty processes by troubleshooting/identifying root causes and recommending necessary repairs.
- Ensure all designs meet regulatory, safety, and industry standards (e.g., SAE, ISO, and FMVSS).
- Drive research and development initiatives to improve performance, reduce cost, and explore emerging drivetrain technologies.
- Strong aptitude and enthusiasm for hands-on mechanical work to support engineering challenges in both production and prototype development.

- Define and execute the engineering vision for axle, transfer case, and hydrostatic transmission product lines in alignment with organizational goals.
- Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team; foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality to ensure seamless integration and lifecycle support of drivetrain systems.
- Engage with key customers and supply partners to capture requirements, resolve technical issues, and support product customization or co-development.
