The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading the engineering team and driving operational excellence to ensure successful execution and delivery of products, driving profitable growth, and supporting the vision of providing best-in-industry products.
Requirements
- Knowledge of and the ability to use CAD systems.
- Knowledge of SPC (eg Six Sigma) based techniques to drive continuous improvement projects.
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, SPC and process capability.
- Strong Mechanical Aptitude
Responsibilities
- Assess current vs. future capacity requirements and implement capacity improvements
- Develop and implement new and existing equipment acceptance plans
- Develop work methods and layouts
- Demonstrated use of capital project management skills to deliver safe, effective, low-cost capital solutions (Project planning, approval process, equipment specification, budget, Preventative Maintenance, acceptance plans, design review, safety assessments, capital request)
- Solid understanding of DMAIC tools; when to apply them, interpretation of results and application for effective solutions (Process map, process capability, C&E matrix, fishbone diagram, FMEA, MSA, DOE, control plan) Drive improvement activity.
- Interface with Advanced Design, Product Engineering, and other business partners on the design for manufacturability, process capability, and production builds of new product or product revisions.
- Utilize Value Stream Mapping tool to develop current state VSM's, interpret maps to identify improvement opportunities and create future state VSM's
Other
- Degree qualified in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical engineering.
- Practical knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong team working capabilities.
- Good communication and inter-personal skills.
- 5+ years engineering experience.
- Willingness to travel
