Philippi-Hagenbuch, Inc. (PHIL) is looking to solve the problem of creating, managing, and reviewing design standards, procedures, and deliverables for their off-highway haul truck accessories. They need to develop innovative customized products based on customer needs and lead an engineering team to achieve this.

Requirements

  • P.E. (Professional Engineer) licensing
  • Solid understanding of 2D and 3D modeling systems
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Internet applications
  • Ability to operate engineering tools, e.g. FARO scanner, protractor, scale, measuring tape for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment for prolonged periods of time
  • Solid mechanical, analytical and technical skill set
  • Demonstrated success in coaching direct reports, fostering professional growth, and driving accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Uses modeling programs (i.e. Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD) to create 3D designs
  • Facilitate modifications to existing designs or products to improve performance and/or integrate new technology
  • Leads evaluation of product design efficiency to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
  • Produces and approves an accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) for all products
  • Completes Load Profile Assessments on products by simulating a load in CAD utilizing pictures, tonnage, etc.
  • Reviews and signs-off on other Associates' design and detailing work in the Engineering Department
  • Maintains LIDAR measurement system and other tools to accurately collect data required to meet design requirements.

Other

  • Oversee, direct and develop Design Engineers and Detailers.
  • Manage communications and relationships with clients, OEMs and any additional vendors.
  • Engages in extensive consultation with customers to identify equipment needs, performance expectations and related business goals
  • Willingness to accommodate planned travel to various locations both nationally and internationally, to complete job responsibilities
  • Ability to represent the Company in a polite, friendly and professional manner always
