Hines is looking to hire an Engineering Manager to plan, coordinate, and manage all mechanical operations, maintenance, energy management programs, and employee development programs to Hines quality standards and property operating objectives.
Requirements
- Five or more years of experience as a Building Engineer or equivalent facilities technical trade.
- Successful completion of the Introductory Core, Technical Core, Advance Core and Management Core Modules of the Hines Engineering Training Program.
- Demonstrates knowledge of all the Hines Engineering Efficient Practices and expert proficiency in multiple Efficient Practices including those under the employee’s responsibility; ability to provide training in those areas.
- Use olfactory, auditory, and visual senses.
- Lift 25 lbs. or more.
- Climb up and down stairs and ladders.
- Access remote work areas and confined spaces (i.e., crawl spaces, roofs).
Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee all building systems and infrastructure tailored to both office and retail environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability across diverse tenant needs.
- Direct and maintain an effective operation and general maintenance program with accurate, up-to-date records including, but not limited to HVAC, MEP, electrical and plumbing.
- Train engineering staff, including but not limited to building systems, equipment function and purpose, operation and maintenance procedures and Hines Efficient Practices.
- Maintain current and historical preventive maintenance and repair records on all mechanical equipment.
- Develop and implement adaptive maintenance strategies that accommodate the unique operational demands of a mixed-use property.
- Monitor and optimize energy usage, HVAC systems, and life safety protocols across varied spaces to maintain high standards of comfort and safety.
- Control engineering activities and building mechanical systems.

- Recommend appropriate staffing levels and hire, supervise and coordinate activities of engineering staff while assuring compliance to Hines standards.
- Coordinate with office and retail tenants to address technical requirements, service requests, and maintenance schedules, fostering strong stakeholder relationships.
- Ensure property compliance with all City, State and Federal safety and environmental laws, codes, standards, and regulations.
- Establish and implement prompt and courteous response to tenant requests within the guidelines set for by Hines.
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
