Zions Bancorporation's Enterprise Technology and Operations (ETO) team is transforming what it means to work for a financial institution and is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing engineering team, driving the design, development, and implementation of innovative business technologies and continuously improving services, particularly within payment modernization efforts.

Requirements

  • Automation experience is required.
  • Advanced technical knowledge in at least one primary programming language, framework, or infrastructure domain.
  • Understanding of architectural concepts and system design.
  • Experience with the DevOps lifecycle with direct experience in at least one area.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
  • Experience building and replacing applications leveraging modern technologies and practices is a plus.
  • Experience in payments and items processing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee infrastructure and software development activities in accordance with the PMO Project Delivery Process (SDLC).
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Evaluate project outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
  • Function as the primary technical contact for projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards.
  • Serve as a player-coach, balancing leadership duties with direct technical contributions.
  • Lead and manage several teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive strategic objectives to enhance organizational effectiveness and efficiency.

Other

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience within the engineering disciplines or other directly related experience.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Lead hiring, performance management, and professional development of team members.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring financial accountability and adherence to deadlines.
