MasTec Communications Group is looking to solve the problem of managing and executing utility construction projects for various telecom initiatives by hiring an Engineering Manager who can oversee all phases of engineering and construction, ensuring quality, adherence to contractual requirements, and efficient project delivery.
Requirements
- Work with ESRI, ArcGIS, and 3GIS, experience is a plus
- Able to review, understand and contribute to project execution plans and schedules
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
- Able to manage subcontractors
- Had a good understanding of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Responsibilities
- Review construction plans and permits for contractual requirements and constructability
- Ensure that all phases of Engineering and all prerequisites (permitting, construction drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), Purchase Orders (POs), etc.) are tracked, monitored, and controlled ensuring completion
- Provide notification when prerequisites are completed, and work can be assigned and transitioned to the next phase of execution
- Act as an advisor to the engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations
- Monitor project schedules mitigating and/or justifications of schedule deviations
- Ensure engineering quality from initiation to closeout and completion
- Provide engineering guidance on the construction of outside plant fiber optics system

- Demonstrate a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas. Ensure all aspects of his/her role are executed safely. Always obey safety guidelines
- Have 10 years of engineering experience with at least two years of management experience in utility systems or roadway design
- Possess strong teamwork and communication skills
- Possess strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
