Manages and directs engineering department resources and activities. Technical approval responsibility for the design of current production work and new product development activities. Develops and recommends corporate engineering policies and procedures consistent with company objective, including, but not limited to, new product testing procedures, problem solving, and training of engineering personnel.

Responsibilities
- Directs department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures.
- Resolves problems using solutions that involve new techniques, technologies, or concepts.
- Analyzes technology trends, human resource needs, and market demand to plan projects.
- Confers with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
- Maintains a working knowledge of new technologies which may improve operations and develops recommendations accordingly.
- Provides technical responsibility for planning, organizing and coordinating test procedures on current and future designs.
- Manages engineering department’s assets, hardware and software, and any of the other related programs or systems within the engineering department.
