Requirements

  • Background in software engineering with experience across modern architectures and cloud-based systems
  • 7+ years of hands-on development experience within an agile environment.
  • Experience and deep understanding of multiple Agile methodologies and when to utilize them.
  • Pragmatic about technology — you have technical depth, but your focus is on enabling others to make smart decisions and move fast safely.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineers in making strong technical decisions while reinforcing Gravie’s standards for quality, security, and reliability.
  • Champion the thoughtful use of AI and automation in the development lifecycle to improve quality, speed, and developer experience.
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering operations including flow efficiency, quality, release frequency, and overall delivery health.
  • Partner closely with Product to define and deliver value, ensuring your team’s work connects to customer and business outcomes.
  • Establish predictable and transparent team operations across planning, sprint execution, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and grow a high-performing team through clear expectations, consistent coaching, and a culture of ownership and accountability.
  • Provide clear visibility into team goals, risks, and progress through data-informed reporting.

  • Demonstrated success building teams or maturing team practices, culture, and performance systems at startup pace.
