An ambitious, high-growth AI and Media startup is seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to build, lead, and scale their engineering team, driving technical excellence and a high-velocity culture as they rapidly expand their enterprise-grade platform.
Requirements
- Strong technical depth and proficiency in our core stack: TypeScript, React, Python, and Node.
- Strong experience with cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, and distributed systems (AWS/GCP, SQL/NoSQL).
- Proven ability to act as a player-coach, designing complex systems while actively contributing code.
Responsibilities
- Set the technical direction by making foundational architecture and infrastructure decisions across our modern web and data stack.
- Lead the evolution of our cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, and CI/CD processes to support enterprise-grade customers reliably.
- Roll up your sleeves to debug, prototype, and ship when needed, maintaining your technical edge while coaching and managing.
- Translate user pain points into technical solutions.
- Build and lead the team, recruiting, mentoring, and growing a high-performing group of engineers while fostering a culture of ownership, speed, and rigor.
- Balance short-term customer needs with long-term scalability, ensuring the team prioritizes high-leverage work and avoids analysis paralysis.

- 5 – 8 years of experience as a full-stack software engineer, with at least 2 years spent managing or leading more junior team members.
- Bias for action, decisive, and pragmatic in fast-moving environments, focused on shipping with rigor.
- In-person in our New York City or San Francisco offices (Full-Time position).
