Machine Specialties, LLC (MSI) is looking for an Engineering Manager to institute process, bring order, cadence and rigor to a busy, dynamic, complex engineering environment, and develop individuals and teams.
Requirements
- Proven work experience as an Engineering Manager or similar role, ideally in an aerospace and/or complex machining type operation with similarly integrated special processes (plating, shot peening, etc.).
- Has firsthand familiarity with high mix, low batch work flow in a capital intensive business.
- Can demonstrate having brought rigor and process discipline to a less robust, middle market type enterprise though process deployment.
- Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems.
- Math skills, including calculus and other advanced mathematics.
- Relevant training and/or certifications as an Engineering Manager
Responsibilities
- Uses, and propagates, use of recognized processes to achieve goals and objectives - to include Structured Problem Solving, DFMA, PFMEA, and relevant Stage / Gate NPI.
- Responsible for company's New Product Introduction Plan* - development of, adherence to, and on-going improvement.
- Works cross-functionally to lead and engage appropriate company resources and functions to improve the performance of the process and products therein.
- Able to bring and implement appropriate Stage / Gate methodology, apply DFM(A) / PFMEA logic and actively arbitrate Customer Requirements.
- Continually researches for new methods, operational processes or tools to enhance or improve existing products and work processes.
- Able to bring standardized Structured Problem-Solving tools and techniques to bear on internal or external issue resolution and is able to command credibility with internal and external audiences for diligence and resolution steps.
- Review and application to Company processes of external technology, industry developments, customer approvals such as to accelerate Company performance and progress.
