MSA Safety is looking to solve the problem of optimizing production and improving efficiency in their manufacturing plant in Pittsfield, New Hampshire, to deliver high-quality products and meet customer demand while ensuring the safety of their customers.

Requirements

  • Ability to analyze current processes and develop future processes to eliminate waste, non-value added procedures and minimize variation
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and waste reduction techniques
  • Experience with time and motion studies, workflow analysis, process re-engineering, and workplace layout
  • Familiarity with visual work instruction preparation and standard system development
  • Ability to implement Quick Change Over (QCO) of the line and system development of the factory
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement (KAIZEN) philosophy
  • Experience with project management and budgeting

Responsibilities

  • Optimum utilization of existing resources (man, machine, material & method)
  • Managing production: ensuring production in different processes & units
  • Monitoring the rate of production to meet the customer demand
  • Style study (Artwork analysis) of every style at the developing stage & guidance to subordinates for preparing the operation bulletin & costing SMV
  • Do the Method study and work-study on the factory floor
  • Facilitate SMED/QCO technique implementation: Next style availability checks before two days, Pre-setting & Pre-training before one day, Skill allocation with standard method, Monitoring layout time & 1st 30 hours production
  • KPI setting & Monthly KPI analysis in the presence of all stakeholders

Other

  • Ability to travel 20-25% to other sites
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, technical or relevant discipline, preferably from an ABET-Accredited college or university
  • At least 8 years relevant experience for Level one, or at least 10 years relevant experience, including a minimum of 2 years experience in direct staff management for Level two
  • MS degree may be substituted for up to 2 years of relevant experience; PhD may be substituted for up to 4 years
  • Ability to communicate with Top management and collaborate with other team members, managers, stakeholders and contractors
