NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn needs an Engineering Manager to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Medical Center facility and satellite locations, maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements and supporting the overall healthcare delivery for patients, staff, and visitors.
Requirements
- 5+ years supervisory experience in engineering or facilities maintenance, Healthcare preferred.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of all building systems.
- Oversees the physical plant in compliance with all regulatory requirements including the testing and maintenance of all Life Safety systems.
- Plans and coordinates in-house and minor renovations. Provides supervision of projects to assure contractual provisions and scheduled are met.
- Organize active Engineering P&P review and upgrade.
- Monitors and evaluates the Engineering Department performance improvement program
- Responsible for preparing reports required to evaluate the Engineering Department performance including budgets, JC compliance, OQIC
- Establishes and supervises the maintenance of data (personnel, purchased, materials and services, licensure and permits.)
Other
- The Engineering Manager is responsible to provide administrative support required for the effective operation of the Engineering Department.
- Supervises staff to include performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, counseling. Provides recommendations for hiring and termination of employees.
- Assures continuous training and competency of all Engineering staff and members of the Environment of Care Committee
- Assists the Sr. Director-Facilities with budgets, variance reports, business planning, strategic development and has financial accountability.
