NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is seeking an Engineering Manager to provide administrative support for the effective operation of the Engineering Department, ensuring compliance with Medical Center policies, governmental regulations, and standards for accreditation and certification.
Requirements
- BS, AS or High school graduate with equivalent combination of training and experience.
- 5+ years supervisory experience in engineering or facilities maintenance, Healthcare preferred.
- Willingness to devote the time required to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with Medical Center policies and procedures, governmental regulations and standards for accreditation and certification from various agencies.
- Schedules all work in sensitive areas.
- Interface and coordinate activities and responsibilities with hospital departments, clinical and administrative staff to assure compliance with Administrative and other department policies and procedures as applicable for repairs, maintenance and improvements.
- Oversees the physical plant in compliance with all regulatory requirements including the testing and maintenance of all Life Safety systems.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of all building systems.
- Organize active Engineering P&P review and upgrade.
- Assures continuous training and competency of all Engineering staff and members of the Environment of Care Committee
Other
- Supervises staff to include performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, counseling. Provides recommendations for hiring and termination of employees.
- Participates in Personnel matters including preparation of schedules, payroll and recruitment.
- Represents the department at meetings and disciplinary proceedings.
- Investigates the issues and determines appropriate course of action in consultation with the Director of Engineering and Sr. Director-Facilities
