Grammarly is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Coda Docs Core Experience team and drive the development of a next-generation application builder.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software development experience, including 2+ years of leading engineers.
  • Fluency in modern web tech (TypeScript/JavaScript, React or similar) plus solid grasp of back-end application design.
  • Ability to review PRs, dive into code, and prototype when needed.
  • Track record of guiding architecture decisions for complex, user-facing products.
  • Experience optimizing large-scale front-end performance (nice-to-have).
  • Familiarity with AI-powered user experiences (nice-to-have).
  • Exposure to no-code/low-code or collaborative document products (nice-to-have).

Responsibilities

  • Own the product surface that millions see first, leading the team responsible for the doc surface, building blocks, and end user interactions that define how people create, share, and extend Coda Docs.
  • Launch our next-generation application builder, spearheading the creation of a brand-new surface that empowers users to craft full-fledged apps, bringing powerful workflows to life without writing code.
  • Drive full-stack craftsmanship, championing engineering designs that delight users while scaling gracefully.
  • Ship fast, learn faster, partnering with Product, Design, and Data Science to turn vision into clear scopes, keep execution unblocked, and iterate in tight feedback loops.
  • Shape the future of Coda, unlocking new consumer and managed-funnel use cases, influencing platform direction, and setting patterns adopted across the company.
