Oak View Group is looking for an Engineering Manager to supervise, direct, plan, schedule, and monitor all building maintenance programs and monitor special projects related to facility systems at Moody Center.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED and completion of a two-year degree program or technical certification in HVAC, electrical systems, refrigeration, or a related field from an accredited technical school, institution, or recognized professional association.
  • 3–5 years of experience in maintenance or facility management of a large public building (hospitals, universities, convention centers, etc,).
  • Experience in arenas, stadiums, or sports and entertainment venues is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience managing full-time and part-time staff, including responsibilities for hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, performance management, and addressing performance or conduct issues as needed.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services, and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility.
  • Knowledge of methods, techniques, and procedures to repair and maintain all mechanical, electrical and event-related equipment.
  • Have basic understanding and working knowledge of commercial refrigeration.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, operate, monitor, repair and maintain the facility’s audio-visual, environmental controls, emergency power, electrical, HVAC and lighting systems as required for the safe and efficient operation of the facility.
  • Develop training programs that ensure that all staff members are proficient in operating and maintaining all related building M.E.P. systems.
  • Develop, implement, document, and maintain effective facility maintenance policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Oversee and provide cause for proper control and care of M.E.P. inventories of supplies, spare parts, shop tools and equipment.
  • Oversee related contracted maintenance agreements.
  • Respond to routine, precautionary and emergency alarms from building automation and life safety systems.
  • Read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, and other related materials.

Other

  • Effectively manage full-time and part-time engineering and maintenance staff including; managing performance, ensuring quality of work, motivating, training and developing staff, and creating cohesion for a harmonious work and team environment.
  • Properly schedule full-time and part-time staff to cover facility operating hours in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other Moody Center departments.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required
