Responsibilities
- Lead a pod of engineers by providing both technical direction and people management.
- Actively contribute to the codebase for the first few months, assisting in system design, code reviews, and hands-on development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, and other Engineering pods, to define and deliver on technical roadmaps.
- Ensure the team adheres to best engineering practices, including code quality, testing, and deployment strategies.
- Drive technical decision-making and provide architectural guidance.
- Manage team performance, conduct regular 1:1s, and provide constructive feedback.
- Work closely with recruiting to attract, hire, and retain top engineering talent.
Other
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or mentoring role.
- A track record of coaching and developing engineers at various levels.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to align technical initiatives with business goals.
- A passion for fostering an inclusive and high-performing engineering culture.
- Prior experience transitioning from an IC (Individual Contributor) to a full-time management role.
