The U.S. Air Force's Survivable Airborne Operations Center (SAOC) mission requires modernization and delivery of the next-generation SAOC aircraft to ensure continued critical command, control and communication during national emergencies.

Requirements

  • Experience with large scale software development
  • Experience with automation and configuration management
  • Experience with software process automation with popular scripting languages
  • Experience developing code in at least one high-level programming language
  • Understanding of software development methodologies such as Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, and Spiral
  • Thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams

Responsibilities

  • Support project staffing plans, schedules, budgets, bids, and estimates for proposed program work packages, including the execution of risk mitigation plans.
  • Ensure the availability and effectiveness of required tools, processes, and training to achieve program success, while aligning with SNC tools/processes and industry best practices/standards.
  • Manage resource allocations required for program task execution, as well as risk, issue, and challenge identification.
  • Collaborate with the business to determine staffing requirements and help source, screen, interview, and hire top engineering talent for the program.
  • Engage with program leaders and stakeholders to intelligently and efficiently manage team tasking.
  • Retain awareness to support all phases of software product development, including requirements definition, agile planning, configuration management, delivery, integration testing, and more.
  • Execute onboarding support, training, mentorship, and career path/talent development activities for engineering discipline teams.

Other

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in a related discipline
  • Typically, 8+ years of progressive engineering experience, which includes 4+ years of management experience.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment.
