Fugro is looking for a dynamic Engineering Manager to manage all facets of a geo-environmental or geotechnical services project life-cycle for their clients, from site selection and investigation to reporting and client consultation, while also driving business development and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Current working knowledge of the geo-data markets throughout the State of California and within the Western USA is a requirement.
  • Working knowledge of geologic studies, geotechnical engineering studies, water resource studies, hazardous waste assessments, remediation techniques, and industrial hygiene practices are expected.
  • Licensed California Professional Engineer required.
  • Registered as a Certified Industrial Hygienist also highly preferred.
  • Have 12 years or more of "high touch" engineering consultation with geo-environmental/ hazardous waste assessment.
  • Have 5 years or more of experience participating on a management team of an engineering firm.
  • Possess understanding and working knowledge of natural resources sensitivities, environmental regulatory framework, geo-environmental and geotechnical investigation methods, industrial hygiene practices, aquifer assessments, well and piezometer construction practices, geochemistry, field and construction safety practices, hazardous waste management laws, environmental site assessments, and remedial action and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • manage all facets of a geo-environmental or geotechnical services project life-cycle for our clients; from assisting a client in siting a site to designing and running geo-data site investigations, to preparing data reports, to representing the client at agency meetings, to providing consultation on a broad range of subjects including but not limited to environmental, geologic and geotechnical constraints, and the various regulatory agency compliance which are applicable.
  • managing projects closely to ensure all work is completed in compliance with OSHA and local and state agency permitting requirements.
  • conduct business development tasks including client engagement and development, lead generation, and proposal preparation.
  • staff mentoring, project management, task management, subcontractor and vendor coordination, business reporting, and invoice management.
  • design field exploration work, and prepare reports.
  • Work with the Fugro Sac office Principal Engineer and Fugro California and Western US business leaders to establish an expansion plan for the Northern California area.
  • Work independently to identify ways to support the Fugro business sectors.
