Coinbase is seeking to build a trusted, scalable, and compliant platform to operate with speed, efficiency, and quality. The Machine Learning Platform team specifically needs to build foundational components for feature engineering and training/serving ML models to combat fraud, personalize user experiences, and analyze blockchains.
Requirements
- You have a deep understanding of distributed systems.
- You have a great sense of design, and can bring clarity to complex technical requirements.
- You have a mastery of the fundamentals, such that you can quickly jump between many varied technologies and still operate at a high level.
- Experience building ML models and working with ML systems.
- Experience working on a platform team, and building developer tooling.
- You can be hands-on when needed – whether that’s writing/reviewing code or technical documents, participating in on-call rotations and leading incidents, or triaging/troubleshooting bugs.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of talented engineers to build the next generation of our Machine Learning Platform.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to translate our vision into a tangible roadmap on a quarterly basis.
- Break down complex projects into smaller pieces and lead the iterative design and implementation process.
- Continually raise our engineering standards to maintain high-availability and low-latency on our critical ML systems.
- Collaborate across the industry and be a thought leader in the field of MLOps.
- Be hands-on when needed – whether that’s writing/reviewing code or technical documents, participating in on-call rotations and leading incidents, or triaging/troubleshooting bugs.
- Apply your skills across all aspects of building ML at scale, including stream processing, distributed training, and highly available online services.
Other
- 7+ yrs of industry experience as a Software Engineer, with at least 2 years managing a team of engineers.
- You treat other engineers as a customer, and have an obsessive focus on delivering them a seamless experience.
- An execution-focused mindset, capable of navigating through ambiguity and delivering results.
- In-person participation is required throughout the year.
- Attendance is expected and fully supported.
