Requirements
7+ years of industry experience in machine learning and AI engineering, including 2+ years of leadership experience managing applied scientists and ML engineers.
A proven track record of building and deploying AI/ML systems at scale, with shipped AI-powered products that have reached millions of users.
Broad knowledge of machine learning and technical depth in one or more areas: computer vision, natural language processing, generative models, or large-scale agent systems.
Strong communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
A demonstrated ability to define clear roadmaps and execution plans to deliver team success.
Experience at the intersection of product and engineering, using AI to solve real customer problems.

Responsibilities
Lead and grow a team of exceptional AI/ML engineers developing production-grade machine learning and generative AI solutions for the merchant ecosystem.
Define a multi-year strategy and execute the AI roadmap across key Mx pillars — Onboarding, Menu Media Understanding & Generation, Menu Metadata Intelligence, and Agentic Task Automation.
Partner with product and operations to translate merchant pain points into scalable AI-powered solutions.
Own the end-to-end lifecycle of ML systems — from ideation and experimentation to productionization and continuous improvement.
Drive innovation in multimodal AI, LLM-driven assistants, and GenAI content creation.
Foster a strong engineering culture emphasizing experimentation, reliability, and measurable business impact.
Mentor and develop engineers, shaping the next generation of applied AI leadership at DoorDash.
