Google's RCS Messaging platform, with over two billion active users, needs to stop bad actors and abuse before they cause harm. The Platforms and Devices team is researching, designing, and developing new technologies to make user interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for users around the world.

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 3 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects.
  • 5 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
  • Experience with security protocols and data privacy best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow our fantastic team of dedicated software and ML engineers.
  • Oversee planning, design, execution and delivery over user reputation, carrier intelligence, anti-malware, provisioning, and more.
  • Partner closely with your Tech Leads to guide the overall technical vision, architecture, and roadmap.
  • Be responsible for technically steering your team and influencing the technical direction, this could include writing design documents, suggesting projects, code reviews, and design reviews for individuals on the team.
  • Drive the execution of large-scale, multi-quarter projects, ensuring your team delivers high-quality, scalable solutions on time.
