Senior Metal Bellows is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead their New Product Introduction (NPI) team to launch new products and accelerate process innovation.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes such as welding, forming, machining, and assembly.
- Proficient in CAD, PDM, and engineering analysis tools; experience driving tool or process improvements is a plus.
- Skilled in interpreting customer specifications and flow-down requirements with full configuration control.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Proven experience in New Product Introduction (NPI), Design for Manufacturability (DFM/DFx), and product qualification.
- Experience working within AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Being skilled at interpreting customer requirements and maintaining full compliance and configuration control.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of 6–10 multidisciplinary engineers through mentorship, training, performance management, and strong technical guidance.
- Own the full New Product Introduction (NPI) process, driving cross-functional collaboration from concept and design through prototyping, qualification, and initial production.
- Champion strategic improvement initiatives, including design tool development, process standardization, and adoption of engineering best practices to boost efficiency and product quality.
- Contribute to the Engineering Technology Roadmap, ensuring new projects align with company strategy, customer requirements, and core engineering and manufacturing principles.
- Review and approve technical deliverables such as design packages, compliance matrices, customer documentation, and project schedules to ensure technical accuracy and adherence to requirements.
- Oversee engineering cost estimates, collaborating with partner teams to improve accuracy, transparency, and overall cost performance.
- Strengthen communication and knowledge sharing across Engineering and the broader organization.
Other
- 8+ years of progressive engineering experience in aerospace, precision manufacturing, or other high-reliability industries.
- 3+ years in engineering leadership or management with a record of leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, including customer and executive interaction.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and develop engineering talent while building collaboration and accountability across teams.
- Experience working with aerospace or defense customers and familiarity with requirements for mission-critical components.
