The Engineering Manager position is crucial for overseeing the Development Review program, ensuring new water and sewer infrastructure meets standards, and maintaining the utility's high level of service within an expanding service area.

Responsibilities
- Supervises and manages Raleigh Water Development Review team, which includes engineers and technical staff
- Provides management and oversight of projects, programs and functional operations of the Raleigh Water Development Review team, developing strategies, goals, and priorities.
- Manages planning initiatives, providing advanced technical guidance related to processes, standards, policies and regulations, performing high-level analysis, and making resource assignments
- Assists with customer concerns, escalations, and provides technical support for the most complex plan/permit reviews
- Manages and administers assigned budgets, assisting in operational as well as capital budget development and administration.
- Pursues continuous process improvement including mechanisms for enhancing customer service and efficient project delivery
Other
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering field and 5 to 7 years' experience in engineering, construction management or related work OR Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted
- Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
- Professional Engineering (PE) Registration
- Team player with experience in project management, leadership and supervision
- Excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and ability to navigate complex challenges and work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
