Caterpillar's Electric Power Division (EPD) is looking to build and scale the next generation of technologies, products, and services to help their customers build a better—more sustainable—world. This role specifically focuses on managing engineering for Retail Electric Power Solutions (REPS), including new product development and process improvements.
Requirements
- Extensive experience and knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
- Working knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
- Working knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
- Working knowledge and understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Working knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams, and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace.
Responsibilities
- Managing the engineering managing and providing technical leadership towards new product development for Retail Electric Power Solutions.
- Lead a team comprising electrical and mechanical engineers and be responsible for the design and development of key electrical and mechanical components of Diesel/Gas gensets.
- Partner with NPI leadership towards process improvements and implementation of the same.
- Providing engineering technical support, guidance and mentoring to team members.
- Managing high-impact, short and long duration engineering initiatives and projects; ensuring achievement of engineering plan, product quality and product cost.
- Maintaining product release plans and material plans; driving programs to completion on time and within budget.
- Collaborating with peers and engineering leaders towards engineering strategy execution.

- Managing staffing, development, and performance management programs for engineers in the team; motivating and developing team members.
- This position is located in Griffin, GA and does not provide relocation
- This role is expected to be in-office 5 days a week
