Apple is seeking a technically strong and inspiring leader to manage the iPhone & iPad HW Automation team. The team's charter is to create innovative robotic/mechatronic systems to exercise iPhone and iPad features, ensuring top-notch quality for customers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience creating and using robotics and/or mechatronic systems, and signal processing from sensors to extract meaningful and precise data, including computer vision (e.g. OpenCV)
  • Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages
  • Experience with machine learning and AI
  • Strong background in applied mathematics (e.g. linear algebra, transformation matrices)
  • Experience in mechanical design (e.g. CAD) and/or electronic circuit design/troubleshooting
  • Systems Quality Assurance or System Test experience, preferably on consumer-facing Hardware/Software products
  • In-depth understanding of iOS, OS X, or Unix system

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and feedback to engineers developing robotic automation solutions for testing hardware and software features
  • Drive technical standards across the team
  • Stay current with emerging robotics technologies and evaluate their potential application to quality testing to keep raising the bar
  • Defining testing strategies
  • Running and analyzing automation results to quantify the impact of issues and fixes to ensure product quality
  • Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables across multiple automation initiatives
