The platform automates the slow, manual permitting process for builders, covering everything from jurisdiction research to application preparation, submission, and real-time tracking. By transforming fragmented regulations and manual workflows into structured, intelligent systems, PermitFlow helps contractors move faster, reduce risk, and scale with confidence.
Requirements
- 5+ years in software engineering, with 3+ years in leadership roles.
- Proven experience managing and scaling teams in a startup.
- Experience with agile methodologies and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of testing and performance optimization for web applications.
Responsibilities
- Set direction and anticipate scaling challenges through thoughtful technical and personnel planning.
- Define priorities, track KPIs, and manage technical debt while aligning with business goals.
- Collaborate with product, design, and cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, set timelines, and ensure timely delivery of software features.
- Manage agile processes to maintain high velocity and efficiency.
- Ensure best practices in architecture, system design, and code quality.
- Oversee the scalability, reliability, and security of systems and infrastructure.
- Lead the hiring process to grow the engineering team.

- Lead and manage engineers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and collaboration. Conduct regular 1:1s, feedback sessions, and career development opportunities.
- Work closely with stakeholders, including product, finance, and customer success teams, to prioritize feature development and enhance the customer experience.
- Provide mentorship and career development for team members, including junior managers.
- Strong alignment with PermitFlow’s culture. You are comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment, where ambiguity is common.
- Strong communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
