Snap Inc. is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on delivering high-quality Ads client experiences across mobile platforms, defining technical strategy and product roadmaps for Ads formats, and driving user-facing innovation.
Requirements
- Strong background in mobile development and deep understanding of mobile client performance, UX, and reliability
- Proven experience leading engineering teams working on user-facing product development and iteration
- Ability to partner effectively with Product and Data Science stakeholders to influence product strategy through technical insights and data-driven thinking
- Hands-on experience in mobile app development
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and how client and backend systems interact
- Experience in Ads or Monetization-related products, especially client-side ad formats and rendering
- Familiarity with data-driven product development, A/B experimentation, and user engagement metrics
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and mentor a team of engineers to deliver high-quality Ads client experiences across mobile platforms
- Define technical strategy and product roadmap for Ads formats, focusing on user-facing innovation and rapid iteration
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Designers, and other Engineering teams to drive impactful product decisions
- Balance technical excellence with business goals by making thoughtful trade-offs and guiding the team through complex decisions
- Ensure timely delivery of features while building long-term scalable solutions that support future Ads product evolution
- Strong technical mentorship skills with the ability to guide engineers across mobile, frontend, and client-side technologies
- Comfortable balancing short-term product iteration needs with long-term technical investments
Other
- 8+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience (or equivalent with advanced degree)
- 1+ years of engineering management experience, including people leadership and project execution
- Hire, grow and retain high-performing engineers by fostering career development, providing feedback, and creating growth opportunities
- Work in an office 4+ days per week.
