Collins Aerospace is looking for an Engineering Site Technician to support a team testing ejection seats and other aerospace and defense technologies at a supersonic rocket track. The role involves handling energetic materials and supporting various testing operations.
Requirements
- Basic office computer software experience / knowledge
- Experience welding and fabricating parts and fixtures
- Experience machining parts on older manual tools (mill, lathe, etc.)
- Experience with energetic materials such as CAD/PAD, rockets, and/or explosives
- Experience working in R&D, test environments, ejection seats or parachutes
Responsibilities
- Handling and testing rocket motors
- Handling, installing, arming and removing Cartridge Actuated Devices/Propellant Actuated Devices (CAD/PAD) from test configurations
- Deploying and maintaining test track hardware
- Performing post-test parachute condition evaluation and reporting
- Providing support for various maintenance and site improvement projects
- Support building, maintaining and upgrading test equipment and fixtures
Other
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
- Strong communication and project coordination skills
- Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a fast-paced engineering environment
