CSX is seeking future business leaders to help foster growth, efficiency and innovation, and to analyze data from Track Geometry Cars and Machine Vision systems to identify changes over time for predictive analytics and to aid field Maintenance of Way managers
Requirements
- Knowledge of Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulatory standards a plus
- Computer-aided design (CAD) skills such as AutoCAD and/or MicroStation a plus
- Data analytics ability is needed
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerBI ability
- Analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
- Major or Concentration in Engineering or Science (Civil, Industrial, Data) or a related major field of study
- Engineering Bachelor’s degree in progress through an accredited institution or related major field of study
Responsibilities
- Data harvesting and analytics
- Visualize data using PowerBI
- Identifying trends and predicting results
- Local field visits to understand processes
- Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager
- Analyze system track testing data to look for trends
- Work with data from Track Geometry Cars and analyze data from Machine Vision systems regarding rail, tie, anchoring, and fasteners on heavy tonnage track
Other
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4-point scale)
- Up to 10% travel
- Work hours may vary in length and schedule (may include a non-standard workweek)
- Willing and able to work different shifts as assigned in a 24/7 operation (including weekends and holidays)
