CSX is seeking to identify changes over time in rail, tie, anchoring, and fasteners on heavy tonnage track using data from Track Geometry Cars and Machine Vision systems to enable predictive analytics for the Engineering Services group. The goal is to analyze system track testing data to identify trends that will aid field Maintenance of Way managers by providing actionable information to reduce risk on the CSX network.
Requirements
- Data analytics ability is needed
- Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerBI ability
- Computer-aided design (CAD) skills such as AutoCAD and/or MicroStation a plus
- Knowledge of Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulatory standards a plus
Responsibilities
- Data harvesting and analytics
- Visualize data using PowerBI
- Identifying trends and predicting results
- Analyze data from Machine Vision systems regarding rail, tie, anchoring, and fasteners on heavy tonnage track
- Analyze system track testing data to look for trends
Other
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Engineering Bachelor’s degree in progress through an accredited institution or related major field of study
- Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4-point scale)
- Major or Concentration in Engineering or Science (Civil, Industrial, Data) or a related major field of study
- Anticipated graduation within a year after the end of the internship
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Written and oral communication skills
