GM is looking to source, validate, and release various Chassis and Body controllers for production, requiring a Software Design Release Engineer (SW DRE) to manage the process and ensure timely delivery of software for vehicle builds and production.

Requirements

  • High level knowledge of software verification/validation processes
  • Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle serial data communications
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle dynamics and electronic chassis and body controls systems
  • Basic knowledge of Diagnostics and Functional Safety
  • Basic knowledge of SAFe Agile Release process

Responsibilities

  • Address all controller and system safety concerns promptly.
  • Lead and support product issue investigations (Problem Resolution Tracking System – PRTS), continuous process improvements, standard methodologies, lessons learned, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Facilitate requirements and design reviews with suppliers, algorithm and software groups
  • Organizes and leads key Controller Product Development Team (PDT) meetings
  • Support investigations on software related issues
  • Own/Release the software for development & production.
  • Manage part number proliferation for the embedded controller (end model part number, software, and calibration parts)
