GM is looking to source, validate, and release various Chassis and Body controllers for production, requiring a Software Design Release Engineer (SW DRE) to manage the process and ensure timely delivery of software for vehicle builds and production.
Requirements
- High level knowledge of software verification/validation processes
- Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms
- Basic knowledge of vehicle serial data communications
- Basic knowledge of vehicle dynamics and electronic chassis and body controls systems
- Basic knowledge of Diagnostics and Functional Safety
- Basic knowledge of SAFe Agile Release process
Responsibilities
- Address all controller and system safety concerns promptly.
- Lead and support product issue investigations (Problem Resolution Tracking System – PRTS), continuous process improvements, standard methodologies, lessons learned, and quality improvement initiatives
- Facilitate requirements and design reviews with suppliers, algorithm and software groups
- Organizes and leads key Controller Product Development Team (PDT) meetings
- Support investigations on software related issues
- Own/Release the software for development & production.
- Manage part number proliferation for the embedded controller (end model part number, software, and calibration parts)
