Barr is seeking an environmental data management technician to support the Assessment and Remediation business unit by managing, validating, and analyzing large environmental datasets.

Requirements

  • work primarily in the environmental database EQuIS and heavily in Microsoft Excel
  • performing advanced formulas and functions in Microsoft Excel
  • apply scientific and environmental knowledge to manage, validate, and analyze large datasets using EQuIS and Microsoft Excel
  • Use advanced Excel tools such as pivot tables, macros, and formulas to support data-driven environmental projects with precision and consistency
  • strong computer skills, including experience with EQuIS and Microsoft Suite
  • knowledge and experience with the following applications: Access, Python, R, and/or Power BI
  • Knowledge of chemistry and/or geology

Responsibilities

  • entering data into the EQuIS database
  • manually checking data thoroughly against original documents
  • entering geologic data and producing boring logs
  • producing charts and reports
  • performing advanced formulas and functions in Microsoft Excel
  • apply scientific and environmental knowledge to manage, validate, and analyze large datasets using EQuIS and Microsoft Excel
  • Use advanced Excel tools such as pivot tables, macros, and formulas to support data-driven environmental projects with precision and consistency
