TRC is looking to solve environmental challenges and make the Earth a better place to live by hiring an Environmental Data Scientist to work on various environmental projects, applying data management, data interpretations, and statistical evaluation support.

Requirements

  • B.S. in environmental studies/sciences, data sciences or analytics, geology, chemistry, engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of environmental consulting and/or professional experience with a focus on data management or analytics related to geological and/or engineering projects.
  • Proven experience in statistical analysis, preferably within an environmental context, is a plus.
  • Solid technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated capabilities for use and development of tools for environmental data analysis, statistical evaluation, and visualization (Microsoft Excel and Power BI, Python or R, ChemStat, Sanitas™, ProUCL, Leapfrog).
  • Experience and demonstrated understanding of Microsoft Access®, Microsoft SQL, Oracle, EQuIS™ or equivalent database systems.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate excellence and efficiency in communication, data analysis, professional judgment, and knowledge of scientific principles.
  • Compile, organize, and configure environmental datasets within the EarthSoft’s EQuIS™ data management platform to support project objectives.
  • Support geologic and engineering interpretations and the preparation of reports and visual materials using a variety of tools to effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Work closely with cross-disciplinary teams of field and technical professionals—including geologists, environmental scientists, engineers, chemists, GIS/CAD specialists—and partner analytical laboratories.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing time effectively and balancing multiple project assignments and deadlines with a variety of project teams.
  • Possess strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Have a strong sense of responsibility and work ethic.

Other

  • B.S. in environmental studies/sciences, data sciences or analytics, geology, chemistry, engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of environmental consulting and/or professional experience with a focus on data management or analytics related to geological and/or engineering projects.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
  • Highly motivated, collaborative, and capable of independently managing multiple responsibilities.
