The Department of Social Services (DSS) is looking to solve the problem of managing large volumes of data by recruiting an ETL Lead Developer to support the daily, emergent, and long-term needs of both HRA and DHS agencies.
Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, including or supplemented by twenty-four (24) semester credits in computer science or a related computer field
- Two (2) years of satisfactory full-time software experience in designing, programming, debugging, maintaining, implementing, and enhancing computer software applications, systems programming, systems analysis and design, data communication software, or database design and programming
- One year of experience in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project
- Knowledge of business engineering principles and processes
- Working knowledge of problem solving with customers using design thinking innovation
- Demonstrated experience working with all levels of leadership, technical and non-technical staff
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
Responsibilities
- Under general supervision, with wide latitude for the exercise of independent initiative and judgment, is responsible for data modeling, normalization, ETL processing, integration/reporting services, data models, database query optimization, collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business requirements, while ensuring performance, scalability, security, and accessibility to manage large volumes of data.
- Develop a deep understanding of the agency’s IT policies, infrastructure, technology stack, and support processes using their experience in systems engineering to define standards and enforce adherence to those standards.
- Develop, manage, optimize, and automate ETL workflows.
- Develop and present analysis of the ETL environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
- Confirm the conformance of applications, components, and services to established standards throughout the application development lifecycle.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry best practices.
- Perform data model management and version control using industry standard tools.
