Genentech's Analytics & Insights team aims to solve complex healthcare challenges and improve patient outcomes by leveraging data, analytics, and AI/ML to empower business partners in Commercial, Medical, and Government Affairs (CMG) to make impactful decisions. The Executive Director for Optimization & Measurement and Targeting & Recommendation Suite will set the strategic direction for these portfolios, driving innovative, scalable digital solutions across the enterprise to maximize business impact.

Requirements

  • Proven success in building and scaling analytics platforms or products (dashboards, modeling pipelines, tools) and deploying at enterprise level.
  • Deep expertise in field analytics (e.g., targeting and call planning optimization, next best action, sizing, field effectiveness analysis and performance reporting).
  • Extensive experience in marketing ROI measurement and optimization (e.g., marketing mix modeling, channel mix optimization, resource allocation).
  • Experience in media (paid, owned, earned) analytics and digital analytics is a plus.
  • Extensive experience working with data science, machine learning, and AI teams and supercharge analytics capabilities and impact.
  • Experience working in an standard DevOps agile setting or bringing agile best-practice mentorship to the team.

Responsibilities

  • Define, and be accountable for executing, a strategic roadmap for the Optimization & Measurement and Targeting & Recommendation Product Suites, establishing and ensuring adherence to business product and technology policies and standards while collaborating with senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Set the strategic direction for the suite of Optimization & Measurement and Targeting & Recommendation products, aligning with organizational priorities to maximize business impact and deliver innovative, scalable solutions across the enterprise.
  • Partner with the Field Analytics team to streamline national/regional-level analytics (e.g., targeting and call planning optimization, next best action, sizing, field effectiveness analysis and performance reporting), and prioritize high-impact use cases for product suites.
  • Develop measurement and optimization product strategies and roadmap (e.g., campaign effectiveness, omnichannel engagement analytics, and marketing ROI optimization).
  • Partner with the Data Science team and deploy machine learning models and AI solutions to supercharge analytics products.
  • Partner with the Informatics (IX) team to define the roadmap and prioritize the development of analytics products.
  • Partner with the Digital Experience, Field Analytics, Field, and other functional teams to define and deploy business analytics products that optimize omnichannel customer engagement.

Other

  • Serve as the executive champion for the Optimization & Measurement and Targeting & Recommendation Suites, articulating its strategic value to senior stakeholders, influencing enterprise decision-making, achieving enterprise objectives, communicating value to stakeholders, and fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence.
  • Partner with relevant Genentech Activation teams in order to develop a structured change management strategy, inclusive of stakeholder engagement, communication plans, and ongoing support.
  • Lead enterprise-wide initiatives to promote cross-product understanding and collect feedback through orchestrated rituals.
  • Collaborate with peers, VP and SVP level leaders across Genentech through regular cross-functional meetings to align external and internal business requirements, insights, and trends to refine the Optimization & Measurement and Targeting & Recommendation Portfolio strategies & roadmaps.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, customer experience, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in customer or product-focused roles, with a strong emphasis on targeting, segmentation, next best action, operational efficiency, performance tracking, and/or business optimization
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience in coaching, developing, and inspiring talent
