J.P. Morgan Chase is looking to shape the visual language of the enterprise design systems for the Private Bank, driving efficiency, quality, and cohesion across platforms

Requirements

  • Proficiency in adjacent skills such as Information Architecture, User Research, UX Writing, and Prototyping
  • Able to show how their understanding of technical constraints and opportunities informed design solutions; familiar with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Demonstrates strong Interaction Design and Visual/UI skills
  • Prior work involves collaboration within design teams (with other designers, UX researchers, and content designers) and cross-functionally with software engineers
  • Advocate for Accessibility Guidelines and Inclusive Design practices
  • Familiarity with design systems and experience with user-centered and human-centered design approaches

Responsibilities

  • Create, document, and maintain visual components, patterns, and styles within the design system
  • Evolve and refine the visual language to ensure consistency, scalability, and alignment with brand guidelines
  • Identify gaps and propose new components or patterns to address emerging needs
  • Collaborate closely with product designers, engineers, and cross-functional partners to ensure design system adoption and integration
  • Facilitate onboarding and provide guidance to teams on design system best practices
  • Audit and review product interfaces to ensure adherence to design system standards
  • Develop clear, comprehensive documentation for components, patterns, and usage guidelines

Other

  • Degree in relevant design discipline (e.g., Interaction Design, HCI, User Experience Design), certification from credible bootcamp or similar accelerated learning program, or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of enterprise, system-level or design systems experience
  • Ability to synthesize complex, interdependent, and sometimes competing needs
  • Portfolio of work available for review
  • Ability to communicate design rationale and system updates to stakeholders and the broader design community
