Netflix is looking to solve complex and nuanced decision-making processes using data-driven analytical products to drive impact for their members and improve their business strategy across multiple areas, including commerce, content, studio, and product development.
Requirements
- Experience programming in R and/or Python
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with version control systems such as git
- Knowledge of machine learning and statistics
- Knowledge of econometrics, optimization, and operations research
- Familiarity with online experimentation and observational causal inference
- Past publications in relevant conferences or journals
Responsibilities
- Leverage a diverse set of methodologies, ranging from machine learning and statistics to econometrics, optimization, and operations research to drive improvements across multiple areas of the business
- Develop innovative solutions to real-life decision-making challenges at Netflix
- Manipulate and apply statistical methods to truly massive data sets
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Data Science & Engineering organization and beyond
- Present work at key internal forums within Netflix
- Contribute to research in online experimentation, observational causal inference, or a related area
- Apply programming skills in R and/or Python to solve open-ended challenges
Other
- Currently pursuing a PhD degree at an accredited university, graduating in December 2026, Summer 2027 or later
- Great communication skills, both oral and written
