Correlation One is seeking expert panelists for its High School AI Championship to inspire and guide high school students in exploring artificial intelligence and STEM careers. The goal is to provide insights into the AI industry, share professional journeys, and offer practical guidance for students considering future pathways in STEM and AI.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of AI fundamentals — including machine learning concepts, data fundamentals, algorithms, and ethics in AI — with the ability to explain them in accessible, real-world terms.
- Experience teaching, mentoring, or presenting to high school students (ages 14–18) or similar audiences; comfort in adjusting tone, pace, and delivery for learners with varying levels of STEM and AI experience.
- Engaging communication skills, with the ability to make complex technical ideas understandable, interactive, and inspiring.
- Familiarity with gamification and applied learning approaches.
- Inclusive and empathetic teaching style, able to foster a positive and supportive virtual classroom environment for students from all backgrounds.
- Comfort with virtual teaching tools and large-group facilitation (video conferencing, chat moderation, polls, breakout rooms, etc.).
- Adaptability and collaboration, working with Correlation One staff to ensure smooth implementation of the panel and tailoring your presentation style to align with provided program goals.
Responsibilities
- Share professional journeys, provide insights into the AI industry, and offer practical guidance for students considering future pathways in STEM and AI.
- Engage with students in a live, virtual session, contributing authentic stories and actionable advice about education, careers, and the evolving role of AI across industries.
- Explain AI fundamentals, including machine learning concepts, data fundamentals, algorithms, and ethics in AI, in accessible, real-world terms.
- Connect AI concepts to fun, competitive, and game-based learning experiences.
- Facilitate virtual teaching tools and large-group facilitation (video conferencing, chat moderation, polls, breakout rooms, etc.).
- Tailor presentation style to align with provided program goals.
- Provide thoughtful and transparent feedback to the Correlation One team for program improvement.
Other
- Collaborate briefly with the Correlation One team in advance to align on themes and logistics.
- Collaborate closely with Correlation One operations personnel to ensure smooth program delivery and adherence to schedules.
- Be flexible in contributing to classes during weekdays and/or weekends, as program schedules vary.
- Interact professionally with participants, Correlation One staff, additional contractors, and guest speakers, maintaining a high level of courtesy and respect.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and accessibility, helping ensure that every participant feels represented, respected, and motivated to succeed in AI and STEM.
- Dedication to student safety and privacy, including respecting confidentiality, safeguarding minors in all interactions, and modeling professional standards when engaging with participants.
