Perception for Autonomous Vehicles: The research addresses critical challenges in robotics, including the development of novel perception algorithms, integration of sensor data, and real-time decision-making in complex environments for the safe and efficient operation of self-driving vehicles.
Requirements
- A demonstrated background in robotics, computer vision/photogrammetry, and machine learning, as evidenced by thesis work, coursework, or specialization.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python.
Responsibilities
- developing innovative robotic solutions
- conducting theoretical and practical research
- evaluating systems with real sensor data and robots
- disseminating findings through high-quality publications and open-source code
- support teaching activities
- mentor other students within the lab
Other
- A Master’s degree (MSc) in computer science, robotics, geodesy, engineering, or a closely related field, with top academic grades (1.5 or better on the German grading scale). Note: a BSc degree alone is not sufficient.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- A collaborative mindset, enthusiasm for working with real robots and sensors, and a commitment to supporting team members and engaging in joint activities.
- A passion for pushing the field forward through both theoretical innovation and practical demonstration.
- Women and candidates from underrepresented groups are explicitly encouraged to apply.
