The Division of Facilities’ Capital Programs group is responsible for high level oversight of multiple multi-million-dollar NYCT Subways’ Capital and Operating projects for the rehabilitation, reconstruction and component repair/replacement of Subways’ above-ground facility buildings throughout the NYCT network.

Requirements

  • baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution in architecture, engineering, or a related field
  • NYS PE License preferred
  • Experience performing site inspections, documenting site conditions and construction activities, coordinating with end users and contractor staff, and responding to contractor requests for information
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Understands construction methodology, materials & finishes and furniture specifications
  • Knowledge of capital design and construction process

Responsibilities

  • leading and managing an engineering group
  • review of design documents
  • coordinating and liaising with internal and external stakeholders on all aspects of project management
  • scheduling and coordinating field visits to ascertain project activities and status
  • assisting NYCT user groups with technical aspects of the project
  • monitor project performance against established baselines and pursuing opportunities for improved performance
  • participation in construction closeout and commissioning efforts on behalf of the end users

Other

  • Six (6) years of related experience and two (2) years must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity
  • Education and Experience: A baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution in architecture, engineering, or a related field
  • Must file an Annual Statement of Financial Disclosure (FDS) with the NYS Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government (the “Commission”)
  • Managerial experience
  • Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders
