The Department of Homeland Security needs analytic support to protect against acts of terrorism.
Requirements
- Strong Excel skills (advanced formulas, pivot tables, etc.) and ability to work with and manage large data sets.
- Capability in Excel to manage and manipulate data is a requirement for this position.
- Experienced in data visualization, extraction, cleansing, and analysis.
- Ability to work in Access and Power BI will be considered strengths for this position.
- Skills in geospatial data analysis and creating maps will be considered a plus for this position in both ArcGIS and Google Earth.
Responsibilities
- Support data collection activities by performing analytic and quality control tasks on large data sets in Excel and other tools.
- Build and modify Excel-based tools to generate relative risk scores, implement policy decisions, and produce grant allocations.
- Conduct geospatial analysis and feature layer manipulation to create advanced map solutions in ArcGIS Pro and Google Earth Pro.
- Support Homeland Security Grant programs by applying risk models used to allocate grant resources to states, urban areas, ports, and transit systems.
Other
- Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance is required; prior DHS Suitability a plus
- BA/BS and minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Must possess excellent writing skills and be able to clearly convey complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
