Generac Industrial Energy is looking for a Field Project Engineering Manager to ensure customer satisfaction by providing project management, technical support, installation, and sales support for Industrial power generation equipment, acting as a liaison between various stakeholders and driving energy innovation.
Requirements
- Prior experience with the tools and terminology using in basic project management tasks (SOW, Gantt, RASIC, etc.)
- Experience and sound knowledge of power generation products, installations, and applications
- Experienced in Electronics or Electromechanical Technology
- Advanced knowledge of AC and DC circuitry, mechanical design, power generation, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Knowledge of engine maintenance and troubleshooting of diesel & natural gas engines
- Knowledge of serial communications and connected devices
- Knowledge of reading architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints with a basic understanding of basic electrical and mechanical control systems
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site support for existing data center customers ranging from dedicated on-site presence to remote assistance
- Coordinate activities with Generac Industrial Dealers for solving customer issues and managing customer repairs
- Coordinate with service technicians for ongoing preventative management
- Proactively monitor customer on-site equipment alongside Generac Link IoT remote monitoring capability to drive earlier detection of potential issues with onsite equipment that would prevent Generac emergency power equipment from protecting the customer’s site
- Develop technical and commercial solutions to support the Energy solutions sales team. This includes gathering field requirements from customers:
- Create online diagrams, wiring diagrams, and work instructions for MV & LV switchgear, motor control centers, and power distribution centers (PDC);
- Provide technical support for the integration of Generac products with third party supplied equipment (Building Management, Transfer Switch/Switchgear, Energy Management, and Utility protection relays).
Other
- Bachelors of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 10 years of relevant experience in power generation equipment installation, support, and operations
- Willingness to travel foreign and domestic 25% to 50% of the time
- Background in Data Center customer support is a plus
- Exceptional interpersonal skills including teamwork, relationship building, and collaboration.
