Apple is looking for a software engineering manager to lead a team developing filesystem and related software for local storage, including APFS, to support critical user experiences across their product ecosystem.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and their applications
- Experience in performance analysis of low level systems
- Experience in leading a low-level or system software team
- Understanding of core OS concepts & fundamentals (such as kernel space, persistent storage and system scheduling)
- Expert-level programming skills in C or C++
- 7+ years of experience in system software development
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers that develop filesystem and related software for local storage (including but not exclusively APFS).
- Coordination and goal-setting for new features and improvements to our file system.
- Cross-functional development with other software teams within Apple.

- Experience with recruiting, hiring, ramping and retaining high performing SW engineers
- Proven data driven decision making
- BS in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience)
