Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is looking for a technician to work on high power solid state microwave amplifiers for the satellite communications industry, requiring alignment, testing, troubleshooting, and repair to meet customer specifications.
Requirements
- knowledge of standard RF test parameters – gain, power, VSWR, intermodulation distortion, 1dB compression, harmonics, etc.
- familiarity with RF test equipment, including but not limited to: Spectrum analyzers, Signal Generators, Network Analyzers, Power Meters, etc.
- solid computer skills
- ability to apply hands-on skills to tune, troubleshoot and test RF (radio frequency) and microwave circuits
- soldering skills
- ability to understand standard RF test measurements
- knowledge of electronics and electrical circuits
Responsibilities
- alignment, testing, troubleshooting and repair of high power solid state microwave amplifiers with a block upconverter and a digital control interface
- tuning high power RF amplifiers to meet customer specifications
- working on S-Band, C-Band, X-Band, and Ku-Band amplifiers
- understanding standard RF test measurements
- familiarity with RF test equipment, including but not limited to: Spectrum analyzers, Signal Generators, Network Analyzers, Power Meters, etc.
- applying principles and theories of electronics and electrical circuits to tune, troubleshoot and test RF (radio frequency) and microwave circuits
- soldering skills for tuning
Other
- two year associates degree in electronics or equivalent military/work experience
- high school diploma and some degree of vocational or technical training and a minimum of 2-5 years of directly related experience
- ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- US citizen
- ability to apply for a secret security clearance
