Pacific Life is seeking a Financial Data Analyst II to join their Business Insights team to develop, enhance, and maintain Power BI dashboards focused on global expense and cost management, and to provide data-driven insights to support business decisions.
Requirements
- Proven experience building Power BI dashboards, data modeling using data visualization and storytelling best practices, and DAX.
- Strong knowledge of database design, ETL process, and data validation
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, and experience querying relational databases using SQL.
- Intermediate Power Query skills
- Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, Workday).
- Experience working with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake) a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain Power BI dashboards focused on global expense and cost management.
- Gather, organize, and integrate financial and non-financial data (structured and non-structured) from various sources.
- Develop scalable calculation logic and transformation pipelines for core financial metrics
- Develop and maintain trusted, scalable datasets that serve as the foundation for Power BI dashboards and enterprise insights
- Partner with finance teams to translate business requirements into effective data visualizations.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across all reports and dashboards.
- Implement automated data refresh schedules and performance optimization for Power BI reports.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in a data analytics or business intelligence role, preferably in a finance or corporate environment.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work effectively with others, as well as provide excellent customer service
- Reliable, self-motivated, and responsible with their time management
