Arup is looking for interns to help them see things differently and solve the most complex challenges facing their clients, climate and communities by providing consulting for life safety, building, and fire code compliance.
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical, Chemical or Civil Engineering
- Perform smoke control analysis
- Assist with fire modeling
- Assist with dynamic egress modeling
- Assist with the development of structural fire calculations
- Assist with the development of fire safety strategies for special hazards
Responsibilities
- Provide consulting for life safety, building, and fire code compliance
- Contribute to the development of prescriptive and performance-based design strategies.
- Assist senior engineers to help clients to incorporate fire and life safety strategy concepts into the design and review drawings for conformance with the agreed strategy
- Assist with development of fire alarm, detection, and fire suppression systems design documents
- Assist senior engineers on project site visits and communicate with architects, contractors and consulting teams
- Perform smoke control analysis
