Marvell's ODSP PHY SW Team works on DSP Networking Chips used in Optical Communication links, which form the backbone of the internet. The team needs to develop embedded firmware, customer SDKs, lab scripts, and GUI applications to interface with these chips, ensuring critical features for top-tier cloud customers and debugging complex issues.
Requirements
- Strong programming skills in C and Python
- Software development experience on embedded firmware environments
- Understanding the fundamentals of computer architecture
- Understanding of fundamental Networking from the OSI model, with emphasis on the PHY up to the data link level
- Knowledge of git, Linux, Makefiles, GDB, IDEs, and bash
- Understanding of DSP concepts (Equalizers, Filters, ADC, DAC, FFE, DFE)
Responsibilities
- Develop embedded C firmware for controlling extremely complicated DSP hardware
- Develop C & Python test code for utilities, GUIs, regression, and simulation infrastructure
- Take an idea from concept through design, review, implementation, test, and release to customers
- Work on mission critical features for top tier cloud customers
- Debug difficult issues, drive to root causes with hardware/software teams, and follow up with Jira tickets to get bugs resolved
Other
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related fields with an anticipated graduation date between Winter 2026 and Spring 2027
- Must be curious and driven to learn more about this complicated field
- Excellent design and development experience, with strong verbal and written communication skills
