Vertiv is looking to design, build and service critical infrastructure that enables vital applications for data centers, communication networks and commercial and industrial facilities, and is seeking a candidate to work on firmware design and development for new innovative products and features

Requirements

  • Basic understanding in software fundamentals including software design and maintainability
  • Basic development skills in C/C++, familiar with the development environment
  • Basic experience developing Linux (Yocto) and RTOS projects
  • Familiar off-the-shelf Compute Modules (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc.) is preferred
  • Prefer some familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Possess good mathematical foundation, with strong research willingness and ability
  • Integration, troubleshooting, and debugging skills

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineering team across all aspects of firmware design and development for new innovative products and features using embedded microprocessors
  • Deliver high-quality C/C++ tested code in a real-time embedded Linux environment
  • Implement the software architecture and firmware on hardware through integration, test, and high-volume manufacturing
  • Software package/containerization familiarity (Docker, Kubernetes) is preferred
  • Participates in sustaining activities for existing products including diagnosis and resolution of defects
  • Interact with engineering, marketing, management, and project leads to assure that product development priorities are completed to schedule and budget while ensuring quality and product performance requirements are met
  • Responsible for keeping excellent, organized project records and documentation

  • Rising Junior or Rising Senior toward a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Related degree
  • Excellent team working skills, drive, self-motivation, and focus on results
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate complex technical concepts
  • Basic experience of version control and bug tracking
  • Student pursuing a BS or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or the equivalent
